climate change

The following is a long but very insightful discussion of global climate change.

In case you are not familiar with the acronym IPCC: The IPCC is a scientific intergovernmental body set up by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

I have an affinity for any discussion that includes 2 references to George Orwell’s novel 1984 (on pages 5 and 6) . Besides the Orwell quotations Dr. Happer makes several brilliant comparisons. I especially like the comparison between CO2 and Prohibition (on page 2). I also was impressed with the comparison to the Aztec use of human sacrifice to control the weather (on page 4).

Another important point that Dr. Happer makes is on page 9, “what is correct in science is not determined by consensus but by experiment and observations.”
